A downloader that does the awkward parts properly
Most free downloaders fall down in the same three places. They hand you 1080p when you asked for 4K, because above 1080p the picture and the sound are stored separately and merging them takes real work. They give you silent Reddit clips, for exactly the same reason. And they replace a progress bar with a spinner, so a large download looks identical to a broken one.
All three are fixed here. Resolution is chosen before codec, so 4K is genuinely 4K. Separate audio tracks are merged back automatically. And the progress bar shows real transfer speed, the bytes so far and an estimated time remaining, then tells you when it moves on to merging. Nothing is installed, nothing is stored, and the finished file is deleted from the server minutes after you save it.
